Each first Sunday of the month the entrance museum is free and the number of the visitors may increase, therefore there could be more waiting time at the ticket office.
The price includes: guide service with official guide of the Province of Naples, entrance tickets with pre-reservation, earphones for groups larger than 10 participants.
Children from 0 to 6 years old do not need any reservation and can participate to the tour for free.
Tour itinerary
Visit one of the most important museums in the world with our authorized guide. The museum hosts the collection Farnese and Bourbon, artefacts and works of art of any kind.
The museum is one of the most ancient and important, as it hosts not only the collection Farnese and Bourbon but also the treasures of Herculaneum and Pompeii with precious and daily-life objects.
The Farnese collection presents sculptures coming from the residences of the Farnese family in Rome and from the Thermae of Caracalla. With the guide you will admire the colossal sculptural groups of the Taurus and of Hercules and the gem collection with 1500 samples coming from discoveries of the region of Campania and of the Farnese collection.
After that, you will visit the numismatic collection, one of the richest collections of coins in the world. The visit follows in the Salone della Meridiana (the Sundial room) with the frescos collections and it continues to the Villa dei Papiri (the Papyrus Room) that guards bronze and marble sculptures coming from an aristocratic villa of Herculaneum.
