Capodimonte museum of Naples – Visit reservation with private guide
Duration: about 2 hours
Availability: everyday except Wednesday, the day-off of the museum, the 1st of January and the 25th of December.
Times of entrance: anytime from 09:00 to 16:00.
Tour description: you will visit the main section of the Capodimonte museum with an expert guide.
Notes: earphones will be provided for groups larger than 10 participants for a better hearing of the explanation of the guide.
The tour can be personalised accordingly to the visitor’s requests.
Please note: the time relative to the beginning of the tour will be confirmed accordingly to the availability of the tickets of the museum.
The tour price includes the entrance ticket of the museum.
Each first Sunday of the month the entrance museum is free and the number of the visitors may increase, therefore there could be more waiting time at the ticket office.
The price includes: guide service with official guide of the Province of Naples, earphones for groups larger than 10 participants, entrance tickets with pre-reservation.
Children from 0 to 6 years old do not need any reservation and can participate to the tour for free.
Tour itinerary
Along with the expert guide you will visit the Farnese and Bourbon art collection of the museum. Those are the cores of the museum.
The Farnese collection exists because of Alessandro Farnese and his passion for art collection and antiquities. The collection extends along 23 rooms and it follows a chronological order. Among the works of art: paintings of Raphael, Tiziano, and Parmigianino.
In 1738 King Charles of Bourbon ordered the construction of a palace on the hill of Capodimonte that could host the art collection that he inherited from his mother Elisabetta Farnese.
