Time of entrances: anytime from 09:00 to 16:00.
Notes: earphones will be provided for groups larger than 10 participants for a better hearing of the explanation of the guide.

The price of the ticket may change. Each first Sunday of the month the entrance ticket of the Certosa is free for all the visitors.

Itinerary
Accompanied by the explanation of the guide you will discover the beautiful Certosa di San Martino (Saint Martin Charterhouse). The Certosa is placed on Saint Elmo’s hill where it overlooks the whole city, which is well visible from this panoramic point.
It was dedicated to Saint Martin (bishop of Tours) an it was founded in 1325 by Carlo D’Angiò. From the end of the Fifteen century and to the Seventeen Century the monastery underwent a lot of transformations thanks to many masters of the time. From the end of the 19th century the Certosa became officially a museum and it enriched its collection (made by public such as private donations) becoming one of the most important museums in Italy. The visit of the Certosa includes not only the canvas and the busts but also the main architectonical structures as the Chiostro Grande (Main Cloister), Chiostro dei Procuratori (the Lawyer’s cloister) and the fake well.
